The Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was invited to participate in the opening of the Dameron Day Care Center #2. We towed our Fire Prevention trailer there using Utility 4A. The Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad #497 also participated. Other vendors were also there. Various animals were on display. Mary Norris and her staff have done a wonderful job preparing the facility. They provided activities and crafts for the kids and lots of very nice refreshments. We made a number of presentations thruough out the day with our trailer. We used various DVD's to teach smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, fire escape plans and other safety tips. David Morris demonstrated his turn out gear while SPARKY made numerous appearances.
Members attending were Vice President James Raley, Auxiliary Life members Snookie Raley, Peggy Vallandingham, Margie Cooper, Auxiliary members Frieda Franklin, Mary Wise, Firefighters David Morris, Karen Raley and George Franklin.
As usual, SPARKY stole the show.
