Earlier tonight, just as the severe thunderstorms were rolling into the Ridge area, we were alerted to a watercraft in distress in the Potomac River near Smith's Creek. Fire Boat 4, Engine 41, Command 4, Engine 141 from NDWFD Webster Field, and the US Coast Guard responded. Fire Boat 4 and the USCG met the sailboat and assessed for damages and medical concerns. The sailboat had power issues, no damage, and all on board were okay. The USCG towed the sailboat to Point Lookout Marina where Chief 4 and the crew from E41 assisted in securing the sailboat to the dock.
