On October 6th and 9th, Ridge VFD educators provided Fire Prevention Week presentations and activities to some of our local daycares and businesses.

On the 6th, we hosted Trossbach Family Daycare at the firehouse. The children ranged in ages from 2-5 years old. All were super excited to learn about fire safety and receive goodie bags and helmets, but Sparky was the big hit! Educators and Sparky told the kids about the dangers of fire, how to stay safe, and how to get their parents to make an escape plan. They all were treated to fire engine tours. The kids (and grown-ups) left smiling and a little smarter about fire safety.

On the 9th, we visited Texas Roadhouse to spread the word on fire safety. Sparky and the crew passed out information on lithium-ion battery safety. All ages benefited from the information ad goodies we provided.
