Shortly before midnight the Ridge Volunteer's were alerted for the personal injury accident in the area of 48651 Sea Side Rd. near the intersection of Smith Drive in Ridge for the report of a pedestrian struck. Moments after Command 4 (Assistant Chief Raley), and Engine 42 (Capt. A. Raley) were en route. Command 4 was first arriving advising there was a pedestrian still in the road way and advised incoming units to use caution. Engine 42 arrived and began patient assessment. Crews from Engine 42 continued patient care while Engine 43 arrived and began lighting the scene. An Ambulance from Company 49 arrived and assisted with patient care. Command inquired if a helo was available but they were unavailable due to weather.

With this information it was apparent that time was a factor. Crews from Ridge fire and Rescue worked together flawlessly and loaded the victim into the ambulance around the same time of arrival of the ALS Medic Unit. Shortly after, the patient was transported. Units wrapped up equipment and returned to service.
