On Monday, July 14 the children from Amy Raley's Day Care visited the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. This was the first time for some of the kids. They were introduced to our Fire Prevention trailer by none other than our Asst. Chief, Eddie Raley. He showed them the kitchen prop, fire extinguisher, smoke detector and a DVD of safety tips. They then utilized our 911 simulator operated by Frieda Franklin to get an idea of what to expect when reporting an emergency. The group then gathered around Tanker 4 and flowed a little water. Each child had a chance to work the nozzle and get their picture taken. Ms. Amy got her chance also and Eddie got wet. The kids were very well behaved and enjoyed their fire helmets and bags of fire prevention goodies.
Members attending were: Asst. Fire Chief Eddie Raley, Vice President James Raley, Associate member Frieda Franklin and Firefighter George Franklin.
