Sunday, October 26, 2014 the Fire Prevention Team was asked to bring the Fire Prevention Trailer to the Harvest Festival at the Oakville Elementary School. The committee not wanting to miss a chance to educate our young folks; loaded up and made the trip to Oakville. Approximately 100 youngsters were given a brief talk and video on Smoke Detectors, Two Ways Out, how to do Monthly Battery Checks and Changing Batteries. We made good use of our 911 Simulator while they were waiting to come inside the trailer. Since this was a family day at the school, we also had the opportunity to educate some parents.l All of the children loft our trailer with a smile, their own Co. 4 fire helmet and a goody bag.
The busy day was handled by Vice President, James Raley, Past Chief Joe Cooper and Lydia, Auxiliary Members: Peggy Vallandingham , Mary (Snooky) Raley(or was that Mary "Sparky" Raley).
Story by Joe Cooper and photos by James Raley.
