Motor Vehicle Accident with Subject Trapped - St. Mary's City

4-01 Box, 10:24- Squad 4 was dispatched to the area of 47600 Mattapany Road in St. Mary's City for the reported motor vehicle accident with one victim pinned in the vehicle. Chief 4 arrived on the scene at 10:29 and reported one vehicle in the roadway with possibly a second vehicle involved East of the scene. Chief 4 established the command and directed Squad 4 to enter the scene from the Three Notch Road side of Mattapany Road since the road was blocked. Engine 141 and Squad 3 arrived at 10:33 and began extricating the patient. It was confirmed by Squad 4 that only one vehicle was involved and they arrived shortly after to assist with victim extrication. A helicopter was requested due to the patients injuries. Within 7 minutes the victim was extricated from the vehicle and packaged by EMS to be transported to a medavac waiting nearby. MSP Trooper 7 airlifted the patient to PG General Hospital. The accident is under investigation by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. All units cleared at 11:35.
