RVFD Provides Stand-by at Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run

Squad 4, Jeep 4, Brush 4, and Command 4 provided stand-by support to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office’s Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Historic St. Mary's City. RVFD units, along with NDWFD Engine 141, Raft 5 from Seventh District VFD, ambulances from Ridge VRS and Lexington Park VRS, Medic Unit from St. Mary’s County ALS, and Off-road Utility Vehicles from St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications were placed along the walk/run paths. Chief 4 held command. The run was very successful, with only one injury requiring transport to the hospital. Proceeds from the run registration supports Special Olympics Maryland.
