Multi Vehicle Accident with Entrapment - Ridge

4-07 Box, 17:53 - Squad 4 was dispatched to the area of 16595 Three Notch Road in Ridge for a reported motor vehicle accident with subjects trapped. Squad 4 arrived at 17:57 and reported several vehicles in the roadway and confirmed entrapment. Squad 4's crew began extrication of the two victims pinned in one of the vehicles involved. Chief 4B arrived on location and assumed the Three Notch Road Command. Command requested a helicopter due to the extent of the injuries. Crews from Engine 141 and Squad 3 assisted with the extrication and packaging of the patients. E-41 assisted with setting up a helicopter landing zone at St. Michael's School. Four vehicles were involved in the accident with a total of six patients. Three patients were flown to a regional trauma center while the remaining victims refused treatment on the scene. Police remained on the scene for an extended amount of time for accident reconstruction. All units cleared at 20:25.
