4-02 Box, 09:39 - Ridge VFD was dispatched to the 48500 block of Mattapany Road in Lexington Park for the reported structure fire. Chief 3 arrived at 09:44 and reported a single story dwelling with nothing showing. Engine 41 and Tanker 4 arrived at 09:46 and began investigation. I small fire was located in elbow section of the chimney. Crews from E-141 went to the roof to inspect the chimney. Chimney chains were used to knock down the soot that had accumulated in the chimney. Crews inside checked for extension in the walls and attic as well as cleaned out the stove to gain access to the area of interest. The small fire was reported out my command (Chief 4) at 09:48. Units picked up and went in service at 09:56.
