On Friday March 1st, our RVFD Social and Fire Prevention committees combined efforts for a fun evening with Pizza, popcorn, sweets, games, and an obstacle course for members and their families. In our efforts in 2024 to promote Good Health and Wellness for our First Responders, it is also important to teach our families what they do, their gear they wear, and scenarios they may come in contact with. The goal was to enjoy time together, and learn, and we achieved this with the support of our members. Firefighter Tyler Dodge displayed his turnout gear, completed the obstacle course, and then assisted our future firefighters in completing the course and learning the different methods of carrying, crawling, confined space, and a friendly game of tug of war. We have more events planned for this year to raise awareness of what our First Responders face on calls, and ways their families can support them.
