September 26, 2006
On Friday September 22, 2006, a crew from the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department delivered the Fire Prevention Safety House to the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds. We were assigned a site just inside the back gate. The classroom was set up and prepared for its presentation. Since no one knew where we were located, a couple of us went looking for customers. Word began to spread of our whereabouts and business picked up. Our group consisted of President Heavy Ridgell, Chief Francis Raley, Life Member James Raley, Deputy Chief Eddie Raley and Firefighters Cole Langley, Matt Ridgell and George Franklin. Tours were conducted, demonstrations were presented and fire helmets were passed out to one hundred and twenty-eight people Friday and Saturday. We received many thank yous and favorable comments.
