Early Monday morning, a crew set up the Fire Prevention trailer on the playground at St. Michael's School. We made presentations to the entire school. There were 127 students and 9 teachers. We told them about Fire Prevention Week being observed all over our country and shared Fire Facts with them. These facts led into the importance of the "Home Escape Plan". They were shown how to make the plan, through various videos for different age groups. We gave them brochures showing how the plan is made and how to practice the plan when in use. We gave them all fire helmets and encouraged them to go home and get their parents to participate in making and practicing the Home Escape Plan. Our crew consisted of James Raley, Sam & Peggy Vallandingham and Freda & George Franklin and J. W. Wathen.
