| On Sunday, May 4, 2008, the "Fightin Four" headed over the bridge and up Route 4 with Engine 42 and Jeep 4 enroute to St. Leonard, Maryland. It was the 61st Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen's Association Parade hosted by the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department in Calvert County. Equipment from all 3 counties and various other jurisdictions were present. There were beauty queens,horse drawn buggies and other civic groups. Fire companies competed in different contests and awards were given for different categories of equipment in the parade. The weather was great and a fun time was had by all. The Ridge crew consisted of Chief Francis Raley, Asst. Chief Bruce Raley, Lt. Darius Hawkins, Lt. Justin Raley, Treasurer John Wathen, and Firefighters George Franklin, J. W. Wathen and Josh Wise. |
