| On Wednesday, July 30, with the temperature in the 90's, a crew from the Fightn' Four drove Engine 43 up to the Dameron Day Care Center. J.W. Wathen sprayed the kids with about 500 gallons of nice cool Ridge water. Sparky greeted the kids and handed out fire helmets. James Raley, Sam Vallandingham, J. W. and George Franklin showed them all the tools and equipment on the truck. The kids loved sitting in the cab and drivers seat and clanging the big chrome bell. When finished, we left with a shrill of the siren and a crowd of wet but waving thankful kids.
