A crew from the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department conducted a fire drill at the St. Michael's School Friday September 17, 2010. The pull station was activated and the students and faculty evacuated the building in a prompt and orderly fashion. There were no violations found. We attempted to hide a student, the teacher was very vigilant and prevented it from happening. We then proceeded to the convent where the kindergarten children are housed. We were very careful not to frighten them, but explained what they were to do in case of an emergency. The school has a well planned evacuation plan and practices it regularly. The crew consisted of Vice President James Raley, Deputy Chief Ray Mercure, career firefighter Tom Trossbach, firefighters J. W. Wathen, David Morris, Associate Wanda Trossbach and Committee Chairman George Franklin.
