The year 2005 will go down in history as the most active and possibly the most destructive tropical season. With Hurricane Katrina striking the Gulf Region and Hurricane Wilma striking Florida, stressed first responders are in need of help. Past President George Gatton reported for duty in Gulfport, Mississippi on October 7, 2005. With over 10 years of American Red Cross experience, George assisted with providing food and supplies to families and shelters along the Gulf coast including Biloxi, MS, one of the worst hit areas. George served 21 days and returned home October 27th.
