| On Saturday, January 24th, the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary installed their 2026 Administrative and Operational Officers, and recognized several members for their contributions during 2025.
Joe Cooper, Past President of the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association, swore in the Administrative Officers, Board of Directors, Operational Officers, and Engineers. Becky Wathen, Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Southern Maryland Volunteer’s Firemen’s Association and the Maryland State Firemen’s Association, swore in the Auxiliary Officers.

Auxiliary President Debbie Fairfax and Vice President Jessica Snyder presented the Department with several new operational and departmental items. These items included: 10 Honeywell BW Clip single-gas detector, 60 new chairs, 20 6ft and 8ft tables. Additionally, money has been allotted for the replacement of our Walk-in/Freezer. They are also currently working with the Chief to help outfit our new Raft with needed operational and safety equipment. In total, the Auxiliary provided approx. $48,000 worth of goods and services!
